LFO
LFO stands for Low-Frequency Oscillator. LFOs are commonly used for modulation tasks such as for tremolo or vibrato. LFOs typically have amplitude and frequency parameters, and also a sometimes selectable waveshape, such as sine, triangle, square-wave, and so on.
In contrast to LFOs, oscillators usually have frequencies in the audio range (20 Hz to 20 kHz). LFOs are distinguished from oscillators because they are not run at high frequencies and can therefore use simpler algorithms without audible noise.
